UPDATE 9/16: We’ve been fostering Jack for a couple of weeks and he is wonderful to have in our home! He loves to lay on a dog bed at our feet and occasionally joins me on the couch where he loves to cuddle with me and his foster brother. He has perfect crate manners and hasn’t had any accidents in our home. He’ll bark when he is ready to come back in the house and sits for his goody once he’s in. He gets along fine with his 5 foster brothers and sisters but doesn’t play with them. He hasn’t had any issues with my adult children coming over for visits, despite the fact that he clearly favors me. He is quite the sweety!

________________

Jack is a 5-6 year-old Lab mix with really pretty markings. He was adopted from us about 4 years ago but recently returned because he didn't do well with children visiting his home. He lived with kids and did fine with his own family but didn't welcome the chaos involved with visitors. We are looking for a quiet, mature home for Jack where he can relax and enjoy life. He does well with other dogs in his foster home but would be fine as the only dog in his new home too. Jack would like a family who is home much of the time so he doesn't have to be alone for long workdays. He is crate-trained but would much prefer to be loose in the house rather than crated. Jack will sit for a treat and does well on a leash too. He weighs about 55 pounds now but is about 10 pounds overweight so will need a family who will help him get back to a healthy weight through a combination of a low-cal diet and plenty of daily walks. His adoption fee is $200. Jack is neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email [email protected] if you’re interested in Jack. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to see more photos of Jack and to submit an online application.
